The One Day Band sessions are an ongoing series of improvisations hosted by Trestle Records. Musicians, sometimes meeting for the first time, are invited to collaborate on a record made in a single day. The idea is to create a supportive studio environment to facilitate the production of new spontaneous music

Session 11 was curated by the multi instrumentalist Rose Moore. A three piece consisting of Rose primarily on bassoon accompanied by Sophie Ramsey on guitar, violin and vocals with Susanna Warren on a variety of wind instruments. The trio play with a variety of styles. Track 1 starts the session with eastern european inflections bringing to mind Bela Tarr or Emir Kusturica soundtracks. From there it mixes folk, jazz and classical into intimate incantations. It's a suite of thoughtful reactive playing, the players attentively conversing, with the space that a totally acoustic ensemble offers.
